Ihram makes the visitor outwardly equal before the King. The word is connected to the Arabic root of haram: inviolable, forbidden and sacred. Entering Ihram means entering a state where certain everyday permitted things are restricted, so the garment should be simple, secure and practical.
This Adult Ihram is a two-piece 100% cotton towel set in brilliant white. It is breathable for heat, absorbent, and packed ready for travel in Medium, Standard and Large.
Lower wrap
Wrap the lower cloth around the waist at least 1.5 times while standing slightly wider than shoulder width, so walking still feels secure.
Fasten and fold
Fasten the top of the lower wrap, then fold it down once or twice to cover the belt and help keep the cloth in place.
Upper wrap
Use the second cloth around the upper body. Keep enough fabric to move comfortably without exposing the lower wrap.
Belt and pin
An Ihram belt can hold the lower wrap and carry essentials. A large safety pin can help secure the upper cloth where appropriate.
